Caleb Stelzig and Colt Treharn Victorious at Aztec Speedway with POWRi NMMRA

Belleville, IL. (4/16/22) Doubling down on feature racing events over the weekend, the Lucas Oil POWRi New Mexico Motor Racing Association would witness a pair of outstanding open-wheel competitions with Caleb Stelzig and Colt Treharn each adding a feature victory to their series total win counts.

Packing the pristine pits of Aztec Speedway to celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend would first see action on Friday with Spencer Hill, Josh Grady, and Trey Treharn each winning their heat races with Caleb Stelzig earning the night’s high-point honors to start from the pole position in the twenty-five lap feature event.

Green-flag feature racing would find the pole-sitting Caleb Stelzig in complete control by snagging the lead early and cruising to his third career NMMRA feature win. Spencer Hill and Josh Grady would be in the hunt for the front all feature with Hill settling into placing runner-up and leaving Grady to finish third. Defending series champion Caleb Saiz would finish fourth with Colt Treharn rounding out the top-five finishers for the POWRi NMMRA at Aztec Speedway on Friday, April 15.

Then, on Saturday, April 16th the New Mexico Motor Racing Association would be back in action at Aztec Speedway with Colt Treharn, Robert Marfia, and Caleb Saiz all grabbing the early advantages to pick up heat racing wins with Glen Brace earning the feature event’s high-point qualifier award.

Launching the field to green-flag laps of feature racing would find seventh starting Colt Treharn trudge to the front unimpeded with speed and precision as Josh Grady and Spencer Hill trailed in hot-pursuit. Treharn would not be denied in his quest of capturing his third career POWRi NMMRA feature victory with Grady finishing second and Hill third. Don Grable would race his way from starting eleventh to finish fourth as defending series champion Caleb Said rounded out the top-five finishers for the POWRi NMMRA at Aztec Speedway on Friday, April 16.
